Description: Working in the education field can be quite demanding at times, considering the amount of planning, working late nights and long weekends, and the day-to-day interactions that go on between parents, students and administration. Maintaining classes that come from disparate backgrounds is challenging, but with the assistance and team effort of Mr. Cordell Manns, he made the operations of our school year seamless. I worked with Cordell in the past at a charter school, and from the very beginning he has been a bastion of excellence and has provided a framework of work ethic that has been followed by other teachers new and veteran. Expectations of parents and students are sometimes astronomical, but the people-friendly skills and excellent planning orientation that Cordell possess help surpass all of those rising expectations, from parents, students and administration. His engaging lessons come to life and he makes learning so much fun for his students and parents. This year he looped up to third grade with his second graders. This marks year 8 for him as an educator. Cordell has been awarded Minority Teacher of the Year 2013-2014 as well as New Teacher of the Year (2012-2013) at our old school. This past year Cordell was awarded Teacher of the Year (2018-2019) at his current school. It has certainly been amazing knowing on a personal level and having the opportunity to work along side him in the past.
