Description: Ms. Thomas teaches English Language Arts in middle school and she is our 8th grade class sponsor. She is well liked by her students, admired by her peers and respected by parents. But she is so much more than that. Ms. Thomas uses her gifts and talents to help each and every person she interacts with, each and every day. She helps her students with understanding their assignments and then goes the extra mile to help them understand how this applies to life. Each one of them, even years after having her class, are better equipped for adulthood, better citizens for our world and better people for their families and their futures, changed because she invested her time, energy, effort and heart into each one of them. She works hard to ensure that every person she comes in contact with is helped by her own challenges, experience and expertise. We are all helped over hurdles, challenged to reach new heights and improved by her kindness with every interaction. In my years of witnessing her impact on everyone, at every level, I have never met anyone more giving and deserving of these accolades. Ms. Thomas works tirelessly to improve our world and all of us at San Jose Schools would like to help improve hers.
