Description: While at their children’s soccer game, Ryan, a firefighter & his wife, Amanda, an ER nurse, noticed a commotion. As they investigated, they found one of the player’s father was in cardiac arrest. Ryan immediately started chest compressions while Amanda hooked him up to the AED. They worked to revive him for approximately 11 minutes while they waited on rescue to arrive. Once rescue arrived they synchronized their AED with the one Amanda was running & they were able to get a pulse. He was transported to the hospital & is recovering at home now. Amanda & Ryan we’re so impressed that the soccer field had access to an AED that they also purchased an additional one of the school that their children attend. Little did they know, but the children of the man they helped resuscitate attend the same school as their children. I’m so proud of Ryan & Amanda for jumping into action while they were off duty to help save that man’s life. They are truly heroes!

Rules and Prizes

One person from each of six defined categories will win a twenty four month vehicle lease from Beaver Chevrolet. Must be 18 or older to win. The categories are named as Law Enforcement, Firefighter/EMT, Nurse, Police, Teacher, Veteran and Local Wow Hero. Must be currently employed, excluding Veterans. Veteran must be honorably discharged. Nominations for Local Wow Heroes category excludes those who are eligible for the other categories. Law Enforcement includes Police & Corrections. To enter and be eligible to win, the applicant must meet the category requirements and be currently employed or reside in one of the named fields in Duval County, Nassau & Clay County. May only be nominated in one county & one category. Beaver Motors employees & family are not eligible. Nominations and voting are open to the public. There is a maximum of (1) one vote per person per category. The top 3 nominees, based on  total number of votes, from each category, will be required to submit a two minute video on why they deserve to win. Required questions to be answered will be distributed to the final three contestants in each category. A board comprised of a single representative from each category will select final winners. Any photos or videos submitted may be used for marketing purposes. Nominations and voting will begin on September 1st, 2019 and end on November 30th, 2019. Winners will be announced at an event open to the public on December 7, 2019 at 11am. Beaver Chevrolet has the right to disqualify any votes or contest image. Tag, tax and applicable fees will be the responsibility of the winners. Actual cash value is $10,000.
